The National Danish TV-channel about culture (DR-K) has been broadcasting 5 programs about me during the last part of 2012.

This album contains six very personal takes on six classic tracks from the historybook of Rock ‘n’ Roll !

Black Dog, Out in the Tiles, Iron Man, Seven Nation Army, Paint it Black and Johnsburg, Illinois…

A passion towards playing some of the iconic rock-riffs by bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and The White Stripes, but in his own way and as platforms for improvisations within a free approach, inspired him to create this project. These riffs, together with a track by The Rolling Stones and one by Tom Waits, is the foundation for this release.

I invited three of my favorite European musicians to join the fun: Mikko Innanen (Fin), Liudas Mockunas (Lit) and Nicolai Munch-Hansen (Den) with whom I have so often played during the past 10-15 years in several other constellations (Delirium, Triot, Toxikum, Odessa 5, Megaphone etc.) – The result is this record!

PASBORG’s ODESSA 5 X-TRA LARGE ”LIVE”

PASBORG’s ODESSA 5 X-TRA LARGE ”LIVE” has been released !

In 2011 I was offered to be ‘Artist-in-Residence’ at Jazzhouse in Copenhagen. And in the beginning of that year, I decided to present six new and unique constellations for the club during that year. One of these constellations was to create a mixture of two of the bands that I’ve been working intensely with during the past many years – Odessa 5 and Ibrahim Electric. And as a result of that, I ended up with this new edition of my X-tra Large group, which works as a natural extension to my release ’Pasborgs Odessa X-tra Large’ from 2010.

Two live-concerts was recorded….one concert in Jazzhouse, and one studio-concert with audience in one of the best studios around my corner of the world, The Village in Copenhagen.

For the recording of this third Odessa-release, I decided to add a few of my favorite rock-classics to the repertoire, and all in all this release has a more ”rockish” output than my other Odessa-releases… but the overall ”Odessa-sound” has been kept intact.
