THE FIREBIRDS – Banke, Filipsen & Pasborg – feat. Nordic String Quartet
“Adaptations” is out now on Dacapo Records.
With this work, we wanted to investigate how sound and music travel when it meets people with different musical backgrounds.
The album consists of three parts. A series of free improvisations which have been the inspiration for 6 European composers – all with a background in classical music. They have written pieces for string quartet inspired by the improvisations. And finally, we have adapted these string quartets for our trio.
